Hi, I am Smita Singh! I have over 16 years of experience in the field of print media, publishing, and education. I have worked with newspapers like The Times of India (as freelancer), National Mail, and Dainik Bhaskar. For The Times of India, I wrote articles on lifestyle. During my tenure at the National Mail, I served as the editor for Outlook (Sunday supplement) and Young Generation (tabloid for the youth). For Dainik Bhaskar, I edited their kids special magazine, Bal Bhaskar. I have also worked with Rupa & Co, a book publishing house and edited over 30 books in all genres.
After acquiring diverse expertise in editing, I experimented with travel writing and worked with magazines like Discover India and websites called HolidayIQ and Hikezee (now Go Road Trip). I have also written for Swagat (former in-flight magazine of Air India), Gatirang (magazine of Maruti Udyog), India Perspectives (magazine for Ministry of External Affairs) and Haute Wheels (magazine of Honda).
After deciding to take a sabbatical between 2012 and 2014, I took up work from home. Subsequently, I wrote about art and architecture for India Art n Design. Finally, I joined Princeton Review as a full-time Admissions Editor and worked with them for two years and then IDP Education Private Limited as an Application Support Consultant.
My love for books, reading, and writing motivated me to start this dream project so that I can stay in touch with my passion. Other than working full time as an editor and reading, I am trying to live a healthy life, connecting with my spiritual side, and most importantly, working on a book, which I hope will see the light of day sooner than expected! Wish me luck friends…your wishes matter to me!
